PROFILE

Ioannis Georgopoulos serves as Assistant Professor of Civil Law at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Prior to his appointment, he was a post-doctoral researcher and academic fellow at the same Faculty. He holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law and a doctorate (Dr.iur.) from the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf, Germany (doctoral supervisor: Prof. Dr. Jan Busche). The subject of his dissertation is the permissibility of audio samples on music selling websites from the scope of copyright law. He obtained his LL.B. from the Democritus University of Thrace (Komotini, Greece). He is a member of the AI Committee of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Greek branch of ALAI ('International Literary and Artistic Association).
