PROFILE
Antonios Papadimitropoulos is Assistant Professor of Civil Law at the Law School of University of Athens. He is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens (1998), with a degree grade of Excellent (8.75/10). He completed his postgraduate studies (LL.M.) in Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of University of Freiburg (2000) supervised by Professor Dr. Uwe Blaurock with degree grade of Excellent (summa cum laude). He obtained his PhD with degree Excellent (summa cum laude) from the University of Freiburg submitting his thesis “Contractual relations with protective effect in favor of third parties under German law” under the supervision of Professor Dr. Uwe Blaurock. His PhD thesis was included in the Volume «Rechtswissenschaft – summa cum laude 2006», Roter Fleck Verlag, Darmstadt 2007. He has received scholarships and distinctions from Greek and German state institutions and private organisations throughout his studies. In 2010 he was appointed as member of FLEX (Financial Law Experts Group – Committee of the European Central Bank) and in 2023 he was appointed as member of BoD of the Company for the Exploitation and Management of the Assets of University of Athens with a four-year term of office and as an alternate member of the Central Mediation Committee. He has participated as speaker in numerous conferences and events and has published several articles and books in his area of practice.

ANCILLARY ACTIVITIES
Antonios Papadimitropoulos is a member of the Athens Bar Association. He was appointed as a lawyer at first instance in 2000, as an appellate lawyer in 2005 and as a lawyer at the Supreme Court in 2013. He serves as Lawyer at the Legal Department of the Bank of Greece since 2008 and he is a founding partner at Papadimitropoulos, Pournaras and Associates Law Firm (2011).
He has been accredited as a Mediator for civil and commercial law cases (2022).
He is a member of the Association of Greek Civil Law Lawyers and of the Hellenic Association for Financial Law.
He is fluent in Greek (native language), English and German; comfortable with French and Spanish.
