PROFILE

Georgios is Assοciate Professor for IT Law and Legal Informatics at the Law School, University of Athens.  Since 2015 he directs the Laboratory of Law and Informatics. He has studied law (LLB) at the University of Athens and has a PhD from the University of London, where he has also taught and conducted post-doctoral research. He also has professional qualifications in computer programming and system analysis. He is a qualified Lawyer registered to the Athens Bar Association and admitted to the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos). He is the author of 4 books and more than 40 articles and contributions to collective works.

Currently taught subjects: Undergraduate: Legal Informatics, Information Technology Law (Erasmus). Postgraduate: Legal Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Society and Law.

Main research areas: All aspects of the interaction of law with technology, Internet Law and Regulation, Protection of Personal Data, Legal Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Electronic Signatures and Integrity of Transactions over the Internet, Privacy and Secrecy of Communications, Electronic Crime and Fraud and Protection of Intellectual Property.

Languages: Greek (mother tongue), English, Russian, French, German (basic).
