Kalliopi Christakakou-Fotiadi, Professor of Civil Law, graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1979 and has been awarded her Ph.D. (with honors) from the above University in 1994. She has been a member of the dean committee since June 2014 and the Dean of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since December 1st 2017. She teaches Property Law, General Principles of Civil Law, Applications of Civil Law, as well as other Civil Law modules at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the Law School of Athens for over thirty years.
From 2009-2014 she was the national reporter for "condominium law" in the program of the "Common Core of the European Private Law". From 1982 to 2012, Professor Christakakou-Fotiadi was in constant research collaboration with Ludwig Maximilian Universität. In 2007 she visited for research purposes the Law School of Chicago University. In 2011 she visited the Law School of the University of Oxford for research purposes, where she presented in Mansfield College her published book about the liability in tort of minors and their parents or guardians. She has participated in numerous international congresses.

Professor Kalliopi Christakakou-Fotiadi has published more than thirty books, papers and articles concerning Civil Law, mainly in Greek, as well as in German and English. Some of said publications are the following:
Ancillary Activities
Professor Christakakou-Fotiadi, as a Dean of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, participates in a number of committees. Quite indicatively, she is the President of the Committee of the Athens Bar Association regarding the conditions for the registration of graduates of European Universities as trainees barristers, as well as the registration to the Bar of barristers of other European bars. She was also a full member for two years (2016-2017) of the Greek Supreme Special Court, which consists mainly of judges of the Greek Supreme Courts and academics.
For a number of years, Professor Christakakou-Fotiadi was a member of the examination committee for the entry examinations of graduates of other Faculties for their admission to the Law School of Athens. In June 2003, she participated as a representative of the then Department of Law in the central examination committee of the pan-Hellenic competition of notaries. For a number of years, she was also a member of the committee of the Law Department for the amendment of the syllabus for the undergraduate studies.
Further to the above, in June 2010 Professor Christakakou-Fotiadi participated as a representative of the (then) Department of Law in the central examination committee of the pan-Hellenic competition for unpaid Land Registrars. In February 2015, she was appointed a member of the examination committee of the Panhellenic Competition for the judges of the magistrate court, a competition that ended in January 2016. She has repeatedly been a member of the seven-member examination committee of candidates for Ph.D. and supervisor to six doctoral dissertations, two of which were successfully supported with honors and the others are in the process of completion.
As a representative of the Department of Private Law, Professor Christakakou-Fotiadi participated in the internal evaluation committee of the Law School (former Department of Law). She is also a member of the Erasmus Committee and an academic responsible for synergies with German and Spanish universities.
