On Monday, February 9th, 2026, from 16:30-17:30, a panel discussion will take place at the "Alkis Argyriadis" amphitheater (30 Panepistimiou street) on the topic: "The Criminalization of Journalism and Dissent: How are Courts being used to Silence Journalists and Criminalize Dissent around the World?" The event is part of the inaugural Forum of the TrialWatch Clinical Network, which will be hosted in Athens and organized by the Human Rights Institute of Columbia Law School, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and the Columbia Global Center Athens, in collaboration with the Center for Public Internaational Law (Athens PIL) of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
The panel will bring together Professor Fotini Pazartzis and Professor Maria Gavouneli, both Professors of Public International Law at the NKUA Law School.
