The conference “Expansion of Criminal Law and Punitiveness” (Strafrechtsexpansion und Punitivität) was held with great success on July 3rd and 4th 2026 at the NKUA Alkis Argyriadis Amphitheatre. The conference was organized by the Department of Criminal Sciences of the Athens Law School, (NKUA), in cooperation with the Law Faculties of the Universities of Augsburg, Munich, and Passau, inaugurating the series of events of “German-Greek Dialogue in Criminal Law.”
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Andreas Kindl, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Greece, and Professor Konstantinos Christodoulou, Dean of the Athens Law School.
The conference was chaired by Athens Law School Professors Dimitrios Kioupis, Aristomenis Tzannetis, and Georgios Triantafyllou. The following scholars participated as speakers: Johannes Kaspar, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg, Frank Saliger, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Munich, and Victoria Ibold, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Passau.
Representing the Greek side, presentations were delivered by professors of the Athens Law School Department of Criminal Sciences: Athanasia Dionysopoulou, Antonia-Ioli Tzannetaki, Vasileios Petropoulos, Ioannis Morozinis, Ioanna Anastasopoulou, and Konstantinos Panagos.
