PROFILE

Lena Divani studied political sciences and Diplomatic history and she is professor of Diplomatic History in Athens’ Law School.  She published many books and articles on Greek and Balkan diplomatic history of 19th- 20th centuries (focus: minorities, internationalism and nationalism). She also wrote the script and presented 2 series of documentaries about Greek history in Cosmote history channel.

She collaborated with the Historical Archive of the Greek Foreign Ministry editing and publishing the Greek diplomatic archives on the integration of Dodecanese in Greece. She collaborated with the EKEVI (National Book Centre) proposing bibliography about minorities in Greece, and with the Greek Cultural Centre for a series of radio shows about the Greek Diaspora.

She has been founding member of The National Greek Committee for Human Rights, vice president of the National book Center and member of the board of national TV/radio (ERT).

Cultural contribution

As a novelist and playwright she published also 7 novels, 2 collection of short stories, 4 children books, 4 theatrical plays. Her literary work is translated in English, Spanish, Italian, German, Hebrew, Slovakian, Turkish, Romanian and Polish.

She represented Greece in the joint project of the cultural Olympics co-writing with 14 writers of all over the world the Global Novel.
