Ordinary Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and International Criminal Law at the Law School of the University of Athens, Founder and President of the European and International Criminal Law Institute, Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg), Member of the Scientific Council of the Greek Parliament. Christos Mylonopoulos studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed his graduate studies at the University of Saabrücken (Germany). 1981: Doctor Juris of the University of Saabrücken (summa cum laude). 1985: Research Fellow at the Institute of Criminal Studies of the University of Munich-Germany. 1991-1994: Visiting Professor at the Law School of the University of Munich. Works of him have been translated into Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian and Turkish.

Christos Mylonopoulos represented Greece repeatedly before the European Communities and the Council of Europe in issues of Criminal Law. He gave lectures and organized Seminars on Criminal Law at the Law Schools of Frankfurt, Freiburg (Max Planck Institute for International and Foreign Criminal Law), Munich, Peking, Budapest, Constantinople, etc. He was president or member of many legislative Committees and served twice as Member of the Supreme Special Court. He introduced the study of International Criminal Law into the Law School of the Athens University and he taught Criminal Law at the National Magistrates School of Greece. He is co-editor of the Criminal Law Review: Poinikos Logos, and he is a member of the Association Internationale de Droit Pénal. Finally, he is member of the International Committee for the Hans-Sigrist Prize (Bern) and External Evaluator for the nomination of the new Director of the Max Planck institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law.

He has written 12 books on criminal law and numerous articles in the field of criminal law, criminal procedure and international criminal law.
